Hey World,
I couldn’t sleep so I decided to write a quick blog and update you all since my last one. I guess this is my first blog I’ve done in bed on my iPhone and using the WordPress application, so I’m sort of curious how the end product will look compared to using the desktop.

Any who…what have I been up too? Lets see…oh! I’m officially (since Friday) on my holiday vacation until January 7th! I love it! And I got paid early so I actually have money for the holidays. That’s a win! But I don’t get another pay check until February 1, 2013…that’s the downside to working for a school district and getting paid once a month. Ouch!
San Francisco Trip
I went to San Francisco Saturday to spend the day going to some new locations in the city that I’ve never been plus take some pictures on my journey. I’ve always been blessed by the weather God’s with sunny weather while in San Francisco but this weekend was crazy cold and raining. But the God’s must have known I was in town because the rain stopped for a few hours…giving me enough time to explore the city from Japan Town, to the Palace of Fine Arts, and finally to Haight Street. Thank you weather Gods!
Japan Town
This is me at Japan Town. What a cool little place? I went into the West End first because they had all the food…and I was starving from the drive up from Sacramento. I went to this place called Isobune. It was a ‘sushi boat’ style restaurant (I’ve never been to a place like this before) and I loved it until I realized it wasn’t a flat rate for the food (like a buffet) and you paid for each item you pulled off the boat. Yikes! Let just say that was an expensive lunch.
Isobune
Here is what it looked like in Isobune. Pretty cool huh? I was snatching all the good stuff off the boats until these people sat next to us and started grabbing all the good sushi before the boat came back around. I was getting so mad because I was like, “Oh yeah! I want that right there.” Then the guy kept snatching the sushi. You can’t get the good stuff all the time right?
After lunch, I walked around the rest of the West side of Japan Town looking at comic books, Japanese Tea, and more of the little shops they had in the mall (it looked like a little mall). I headed to the East end where I saw a cool sword shop (I secretly want to be a ninja). I almost bought a three-piece sword kit but had to pass and be financially savvy the rest of the month. It was a hard decision…swords or groceries. Hmmmm…I choose food! But I can’t lie…I so much wanted to walk around San Francisco with swords like Afro Samurai. “Where’s the number 1 headband (Afro Samurai voice)?” (You’ll only get that reference if you’ve seen Afro Samurai)
Next stop…Palace of Fine Arts
Here I am with my cool little Canon t1i and Tamron 70-300VC lens at the Palace of Fine Arts looking all cool.
Palace of Fine Arts was an incredible place. The Roman columns were HUGE! And the guardians watching over the “Palace” were very detailed. This place was perfect for wedding photography and photo shoot sessions. You have to be there to see if for yourself. Words can’t express just how amazing this place is…put it on your ‘bucket list’ for 2013. Or should I say your ‘places to see in 2013′ list. I’ll be back next year for sure.
Golden Gate Bridge
So, this was not a destination I planned but I missed the exit and so I had to cross the bridge…TWICE…so that was awesome because the last time I crossed the bridge was in 6th grade while on a field trip. I was like twelve when I did that…I’m 30 now! WOW! That can’t happen again. I can’t go that long before experiencing something so incredible in life. Now, we’re just talking about the Golden Gate Bridge and it’s a landmark but this is literally in my ‘backyard’ (I’m less than 2-hours from S.F.) and it’s taken me 17-18 years to cross the bridge again? Not cool. I’ll be changing that this coming year.
I took this picture while driving…probably not the smartest thing to do but I had to capture this moment. This picture is a little creepy because moments before I took this picture, it was raining so hard that I couldn’t even see in front of me with my wipers on ‘full speed’ but it cleared up just in time for this picture.
The last destination on this trip…Haight Street!
I traveled over to Haight Street for their thrift stores…mainly Crossroads and Bufflo Exchange to see what good finds we could spot. I didn;t get a chance to walk down the street and check all the shops but this will also be back on my ‘places to see in 2013.’ I went to Crossroads and found a could kangal hat and then to the Bufflo Exchange and bought a hoodie and blue cardigan sweater. It was a WIN WIN! I loved the art graffiti on throughout the entire street and the ‘culture’ of it all. You will ocassionally…okay…frequently smell marijuana smoke as you past pedestrians on the street…I guess they should call it “High Street” because that’s what happens there. I wasn’t there to judge but SHOP and I did just that. Then I had to walk up these hills to get to my car. Can you say OUT OF SHAPE?
Got to my whip and headed back to Sacramento. What else can I say? It was a successful and fun day. Great times!

You know I sleep with the #1 Headband under my pillow. Sounds like it was an awesome day. Can’t wait until we make it so all days are like that.
I also can’t wait to do sword training in Japan. That’s going to be so awesome.
