Hey World,
So, I have been busy working and trying to do something with my life. I have a few updates for you all about what I’ve been doing recently. I’ll post most of the updates in video vlogs that I have created on my Youtube page. I really miss writing these posts for you all to read because it’s also a great outlet for me. When there is no one else to talk too I know that I can release here on my personal website (blog) for the world to see/read.
What have you all been up too? I hope you all are doing well and life isn’t too stressful in your ‘hood’. Okay, I’ll get to my updates…here you go.
So last night was the SUPER MOON and it was visible for a short period of time for all to see. This is the only time in the entire year that the moon is like 16% bigger and 33% brighter than normal (I read that online somewhere). We’ll the super moon wasn’t quite the super moon when my wife and I saw it last night but it did save our lives. Here is my vlog video of me illustrating the events the best I could.
Pretty scary when I sit back and think about how that moment could have been if I wasn’t staring at that moon. Would I be here to write this blog? Or would you have heard by news or word of month about either my death or accident?
This made me think how quickly we take our lives for granted. That second or two would have changed (I can only imagine) my life and my wife’s life forever. I’m so glad that we both were able to make it to the comedy club and have a good time. We come close to those types of accidents everyday and I would say that most of them are out of our control.
Okay…changing gears really quickly to something a little more positive and funny. I was in Los Angeles last weekend for the Kyle Cease Seminar and it was life changing for me. I had a GREAT time learning about being in the moment and going with the flow. I learned how our mind is a tool and we need to take control of it to create endless amounts of opportunities and content. I’ll talk more about this in another blog I do this week (promise), but for now I want to show you a clip of me doing open mic at Tommy T’s here in Sacramento and just going with the flow. I was in the moment and it showed. Of course, I had some back up material but I didn’t know what jokes I was going to use and there wasn’t a set order. I was in the moment and I LOVED IT! Here take a look and see for yourself.
See…I told you that I was in the moment. It started off pretty slow and I wasn’t 100% in the flow until probably the last 2 minutes of the video. This is where fear and anxiety left me and I was in this zone. I was supposed to do a 5 minute set and ended up with almost a 9 minute set. I’m so glad that I didn’t get yanked off stage. What did you think? Yeah, I know I cuss a lot but it’s just a release for me.
Well it’s that time for me to go to bed. I have work in the AM plus a workout. Stay tuned to my blogs as I talk about my experience in L.A. Night ya’ll!
Peace, Love and Blogs,
Jovon Torres
